Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered in a search tool is sent to the third-party provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and returns its result. Clay County Court Docket does not keep or log the search terms entered through those tools.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When a visitor sends an email to the site, the message may be retained to handle the communication. It is kept within the site operation unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, servers may receive technical details associated with the visit:
- The device IP address
- Browser version and operating system
- Device type
- Pages visited and the time spent on them
- The referring site, when available
- Page-view timestamps
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device that help measure site use, such as page traffic and exits. Analytics providers may combine that traffic information for reporting. Browser controls can block cookies, though some site functions may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
The information described above may be used for the following site operations:
- Operating and maintaining the site
- Routing a search request to its partner service
- Measuring which reference pages are useful or need improvement
- Finding and correcting technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Court-Record Data on File
This site does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of Clay County court dockets or personal case-record information. It provides general routing information for records held by the Circuit Clerk, Chancery Clerk, Justice Court, West Point Municipal Court, and eligible MEC/PAMEC systems. Official court access remains subject to the Mississippi Public Records Act, the Mississippi Supreme Court’s public-records policy, court rules, and confidentiality limits. Clay County Court Docket is not a consumer reporting agency, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party profiles.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power search boxes on the site. Information submitted to one of those tools is handled under that partner’s privacy policy, not this policy. The partner controls its own retention and sharing practices, so review its policy before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
The site links to clerk pages, Mississippi court portals, MEC/PAMEC resources, legal-aid resources, and third-party tools. A link opens a separate service governed by that service’s own privacy policy. Review that policy before providing personal information.
Some advertising partners may track activity across services to deliver interest-based advertising. That activity occurs within their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
Clay County Court Docket does not sell personal data. Information may be disclosed to:
- Search partners that process submitted queries
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Ad networks that serve advertisements on the site
- Government or law-enforcement bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected information. Internet transmission and storage cannot be guaranteed completely secure, so the site cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from people under 18. If the operation learns that a minor’s information was provided, it will be removed promptly.
Your Data Rights
The Mississippi Public Records Act and the Mississippi Supreme Court’s Statement of Policy Regarding Openness and Availability of Public Records govern access to government and court records, not personal data handled by this private site. For personal data handled by the site, visitors may:
- Request a copy of information held about them
- Ask that incorrect information be corrected
- Request deletion of their information
- Ask to opt out of certain processing where applicable
